The "Shining Ones" were a primordial shamanistic priesthood who existed thousands of years before the supposed onset of "civilization". They possessed a profound understanding of the nature of existence, gained through their experience of the process later described in Hinduism as Kundalini. 

  Through concentrated spiritual practice, energy rises up the spine (the body's main energy channel), through seven chakras (energy vortices centred on the endocrine glands) to the three glands of the brain, emerging at a point just above the crown of the head known as the bindu - the point of enlightenment. When energy reaches the bindu the initiate experiences a powerful explosion of "inner light" within the brain that brings with it a total clarity about the nature of the cosmos and all existence - enlightenment.

  is from their experience of his "inner light" or "inner sun" that these ancient enlightened initiates acquired the name "Shining Ones".

  The Shining Ones carried their profound wisdom and knowledge to other cultures around the world, encoding it in myth and stories in order to render it accessible only to the initiated. As this book sets out to demonstrate, almost all universal symbolism can be referred back to the Shining Ones' knowledge of the kundalini process - despite attempts by powerful self-interested institutions and societies, such as the Catholic Church, to obscure and suppress this knowledge. The ideas of the rising kundalini underlie, for example, the concepts of the world mountain and the world tree, while the seven chakras of the body and the three glands of the brain account for the importance respectively of the numbers seven and three in cultures worldwide.

For thousands of years the Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza have withstood the ravages of time.

  Many of us have been brought up to believe that the pyramids were the tombs of Pharaohs.

  What many of us do not know is that these monuments and temples really stand as a testament to a timeless ‘Golden Age’ when the earth and its inhabitants enjoyed a continual springtime climate and lived peacefully in a virtual Garden of Eden . . . a utopian paradise, before the global catastrophe that caused the axis to fall . . .

  The author has found much accumulating evidence from many different sources that it was/is believed that the earth’s axis was upright at one time (Arcadia – Tep Zepi) and that we are being told that a global catastrophe happened which had tilted the axis and changed everything.

  For the first time, author Gary Osborn presents a major discovery, that the Great Pyramid and other monuments at Giza,

·contain geophysical information concerning the earth’s orbital dynamics – the result of its inclined axis.

·That the Great Pyramid is pointing to its own location on the earth and for a special reason.

·The author shows how the Giza Complex is an ancient ‘precessional clock’ utilised as a means to monitor the cycles of time, and that it was also used as an initiation temple and as a means to ‘escape’ these cycles – as was believed one could.

·The author also provides evidence that many elements of the Jesus story as told in the Gospels, are astrotheological; that the story was largely based on the astronomical alignments observed at Giza and the tracking of the constellation of Orion as well as the shadow phenomena associated with the Great Pyramid during the equinoxes and solstices. But more than this, he says the story was also based on what the pyramids were used for originally; in regard to shamanic initiation into the shamanic trance states, the mysteries of life, death and rebirth (reincarnation) and the Kundalini ‘enlightenment experience’ – the knowledge of which was later preserved by the Gnostics, the Templars and the Freemasons, to name but a few.

·The author shows that the original shamanic and pagan conceptions that were used by the Church to establish Christianity were originally based on the ‘resurrection god’ and the rebirth of the saviour who was 'believed' to have the power to ‘resurrect’ the earth’s axis to its vertical position and bring back the balance of the Golden Age in terms of healing the duality and imbalance in human consciousness.

·The author reveals that the true purpose of Giza and the information contained there, has been known and kept a secret throughout history, and mainly from the elite members of the Church, who would have considered it the ‘greatest heresy’ and mainly for the reasons given above.

·For the first time Gary Osborn reveals that this same information had been encoded in several major works of art from the Baroque Period (17th century). Indeed it was by deciphering the codes in these works of art that the author was then led to the discovery of the encoded information in the Great Pyramid and the geometrical groundplan at Giza.

·The primary source for this information is the Jesuit painter Nicolas Poussin (1594-1695). It is believed by many that Poussin’s paintings contain a cipher or code. Well now this code has finally been deciphered, and the author says the code is linked to Giza, and goes further than any pentagonal geometry found in the painting and has no 'direct' link with the Rennes le Château mystery – a connection that most people have followed ever since the publication of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail in 1982.

 

·The author has researched into Poussin’s background and provides new evidence that Poussin received his information through his associations with one of the greatest minds of his age, Athanasius Kircher, who knew the English explorer and mathematician, John Greaves. It was Greaves who visited Giza and measured the Great Pyramid.

·The event that nearly wiped-out the human race and caused the axis to tilt from its upright position explains the symbolism related to ‘death’ in Poussin’s ‘Arcadian Shepherds’ paintings and other similar paintings from the period which also feature staffs, skulls and crosses. The skull also makes an appearance in Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, and which as many of us now know via the celebrated book Hamlet’s Mill, (1969) is really based on the myth of Osiris.

  With the fall of the axis man “fell” into cycles – headed by the Cycle of Precession.

·The author reveals that the associative information which had been encoded in the monuments at Giza, has also been encoded in the landmarks of Paris – especially the glass pyramid that stands in the Louvre courtyard commissioned by the Jesuit president of France, Francois Mitterand.

·In addition to this, the author reveals startling new evidence that the glass pyramid also has a special relationship with Poussin’s last paintings The Four Seasons that are presently on display in a special room in the Louvre. (The seasons are the result of the earth’s axis being tilted at 23.5 degrees).

·Furthermore he reveals the true purpose of the old Paris Meridian and how it is linked with Giza and the Great Pyramid, as well as the ancient shamanic and pagan beliefs surrounding the source-centre of creation, and the conceptual return of the Messiah – the one whom it was believed reincarnates on earth to right the imbalance caused by the tilt of the axis resulting in the “fall of man”.

·In bringing all this to light, the author sweeps away the theories posed by books like The Da Vinci Code, and reveals the real code associated with the landmarks in Paris, which is not directly linked to Da Vinci but with the painter Poussin, and all about an ancient global catastrophe that had threatened life on earth – or so it was/is believed. The encoded information in Da Vinci's paintings was supplemented further by Poussin who was instructed by the same initiates whom Da Vinci was involved with.

Axis also takes the reader on a fascinating and an informative journey through the history of Giza, relating the adventures of its earliest explorers and taking a look at the old and current theories. At the same time we are given a fresh new perspective on ancient Egyptian symbolism and how this symbolism relates to early shamanic experience associated with the ‘world mountain’, the ‘world tree’ and the axis mundi (“axis of the world”). The author also focuses on the myth of the murdered god Osiris whose spine, he says, really represented the earth’s axis and vice versa.

  For example, there is the ritual involving the ‘Djed Column’ (the backbone of Osiris) which the Pharaoh would raise up symbolically. There is also the tilted cross that Jesus carries on his back before it is raised up, and which not only represents the earth’s axis but also his spinal column – and it is from this upright position that Jesus, who represents everyman, is able to ascend to heaven - the crucifixion being a metaphor for the Kundalini Awakening experience.

The author also describes the ideal conditions resulting from an upright axis, and speculates on the cause behind the catastrophe that was believed to have caused the axis to tilt from a vertical position.

  Having deciphered the codes that had led him to this conclusion, as well as having discovered the information contained in the Great Pyramid itself, the author found he was not alone in adopting the Axis Tilt Theory . . .

  Two leading geoscientists – D.S. Allan and J.B. Delair – had already put forward a convincing argument that the earth’s axis was once upright and had became tilted c. 9,500 BC, due to comet fragments from a supernova explosion in the region of the Vela star system.

Along the way, the author shows how this encoded information is also leading us to the symbolic or literal burial place of Osiris and a secret chamber inside the Great Pyramid – the subject of Gary Osborn's next book . . . Gate of God.
