Shining Ones
Actaeon – meaning Shining One. He was depicted as horned – hence Shining.
Aelf – Anglo Saxon term meaning Shining Being.
Agni – Hindu god meaning Shining One – so that he may illuminate the sky.
Akh – Egyptian term meaning Shining Soul, note the use of the term in the names of certain Pharaoh’s such as Akh-en-Aten.
Anannage – from the Sumerian Creation Myths and were the Great Sons of Anu or Great Sons of the Shining One. They were the original Shining Ones, similar to the Hebrew Anakim and the Angakok of the Greenland and Alaskan Shaman.
Angel – Semite word El means both angel and shining.
Archangel Michael – He who is Shining.
Barbes – Waldensian Pastors, meaning Shining Lights.
Bodhisattvas – Buddhist Holy Men and regarded as Shining Ones.
Devas – Sanskrit for Shining One - minor deities of Hinduism and Buddhism.
Du-w – linked phonetically with Yahweh and means Shining One or One Without Darkness.
Dyaus Pittar – related to Hu (see Hu) meaning Shining Father (father = Egyptian Ptah).
Elijah – Shining Prophet.
Elohim - The Biblical term for Lord but actually meaning the plural ‘the shining ones’ indicating that there were originally a group of respected humans from the Sumerian origin as can be seen in the etymology of the language. Also a term for the ‘heavenly host’ – the stars of the heavens.
Emanuel – derives from the Egyptian Ammun-u-El meaning Amum is Shining. Emanuel therefore gives us The Shining One is with us.
Fatima – daughter of the Prophet Mohammed and meaning Shining One.
Gaumanek – a Shaman term for the enlightenment process and means to be illuminated or to Shine.
Helios – the Sun God is depicted on a Shining Horse.
Hu – the great god Hu means Shining Light and is the root of many names of god/deities such as Lugh, Dyhu, Taou and Huish.
Isis – the great Queen of Heaven (a term used for Mary Mother of God). She governed the Shining Heights.
Kether – the Kabbalistic reference to the crown meaning Crown of Pure Brilliance or Shining One.
Lampon – the horse of Diomedes is called the Shining One.
Melchior – one of the Magi who visited Jesus at his birth. He was King of Light or Shining One.
Moses – meaning emergent serpent. He came down from Mount Sinai with Shining Skin and was Shining Forth.
Ra – was the Great Egyptian Shining One in the sky.
Raphael – Shining Healer.
Seraphim – (see Numbers 21:6 in the Bible) supposedly Angelic beings but having all the attributes of humans, with faces, hands, legs etc. Their wings were symbolic of the Shaman flight. They existed in light and were thus termed the Shining Ones.
Skinfaxi – the Norse mythological horse means the Shining Mane.
Tuatha dé Danann – Sons of the Tribe of Danu or People of Danu, related to the Anannage (see Anannage). D’anu the Shining One, giving the name to Denmark and various other European sites. They were the mythological inhabitants of Ireland, according to some having arrived there from Egypt. The name Dan is male and Danu female – two versions of the same deity.
