23.5 Degrees

Part 2: The Theme of 'Death' and 'Imbalance:

Skulls and Crossbones'

Here's an interesting vanitas painting. It includes an elderly man - St Jerome - wearing a philosopher's cap and pointing at the centre of a skull resting on its side. He looks exasperated, as if people are just not "getting it."

32. Artist and title unknown

33. The Encoded angles.

The painting on the left is unknown. However we know this is St Jerome because the painting on the right is entitled St Jerome and has been painted by Albrecht Durer no less - dated 1521. In Durer's painting the finger is at the same angle and St Jerome looks quite angry. However we will examine the painting on the left.

This time more emphasis is given to the number 72 by the instruments on the table taking the place of the usual crossed bones. Again, the number 72 is associated with precession.

We see the angle of 52º in the leaning book and 23.5º in the angle of the pointing finger, which is pointing directly at the centre of the skull - the point of enlightenment.

At the climax of Kundalini enlightenment, one will experience an explosion of bright-white light from the centre of the head.

Again, I would interpret this 'pointing to the centre of the head' to be related - not only to the Kundalini enlightenment experience - but also the Great Pyramid as I have personally discovered that the Great Pyramid is a huge representation of the human skull and that the angle of 23.5 degrees runs through the centre of the King's Chamber. The King's Chamber also represent the point of enlightenment which would take place within the Thalamus at the centre of the brain.

All this will be revealed in time. And speaking of 'time' we see the familiar hour glass.

LEVIATHAN

“Let them curse it that curse the day, who are skilful to rouse Leviathan”.

  JOB 3:8

When we read these words from the Bible, we sense a reality behind them, even though the name Leviathan suggests a mythical beast of some kind.

‘Leviathan’ was the Hebrew name for the celestial ‘dragon of the deep’ or the ‘dragon of the Abyss’, which was believed to reside deep inside the bowels of the earth in the Underworld or the Abzu (Sumerian).

Saturn and the god Kronos) also Set or Seth of Egyptian myth, who murders his brother Osiris, is also an archetype for Satan.

Others have added that this possibly explains the Cathar belief in Rex Mundi, “The Lord of the Earth” who rules the world from its central core. If so, then how this “stone” became connected with the Holy Grail is a little puzzling.

These theories surrounding Tiamat or Leviathan are interesting in view of everything we have seen so far and are yet to see. However, in his book, Middle Eastern Mythology (1991), Professor S. H. Hooke, informs us that an ancient cult or scattering of individuals once existed who worshipped the dragon or “serpent of the sea” and that these individuals may have even conjured-up this ‘Serpent of the Abyss’ – which correspond with the words from the Bible. He says this creature was Tiamat – again the same Leviathan mentioned in Job. Having cross-referenced the emerging data, these individuals referred to by Professor Hooke could only be the Elohim or Shining Ones. Now although this monster is known worldwide, in China the ‘Dragon is worshipped and is not considered “evil” or something that should be destroyed as conceptualised in the west with its dragon-slayer saints and heroes, but rather something that should be cultivated. This Dragon or Serpent is again said to reside somewhere beneath the earth, and according to the editors of The Necronomicon:

“ . . . it is a powerful force, a magickal force, which is identified with mastery over the created world; it is also a power that can be summoned by the few and not the many”.

So, it’s more-than-possible that we are not talking about a creature as such, but a ‘force’ of some kind – and a rather terrifying force at that. So according to Job 3:8 in the Bible, Leviathan is really a ‘spiritual power’ awakened by an adept individual or group whose business it was, to stir up this power and perhaps for malevolent purposes. What this ‘force’ is exactly, seems to have something to do with the earth’s telluric currents – i.e., the positive and negative magnetic ‘lines of force’ that radiate outwards from the core, and compose the earth’s underlying energy grid. In China these meridians are known as ‘Dragon Paths’ and in the West they are known as ‘Ley Lines’. The ancient and mystical knowledge associated with these ‘earth energies’, has recently re-emerged in Rupert Sheldrake’s Morphogenetic Field theory, and which has led many to refer to this underlying system as the Morphogenetic Grid. It is said that the ancients had some control over the grid and these earth energies and could manipulate them through ritual Magick – Heka – as known by the ancient Egyptians.

We are told that the ancient pagan Wiccans would raise the “cone of power” through ‘circle dancing’ and that this is associated with “rousing Leviathan”. The same method is utilised by the whirling dervishes in the Middle East, the Native American Indians as well as the Venda tribe in Africa who engage in the sacred ‘Python Dance’. The Gnostics too would utilise the ‘round dance’ as did the Christians, who would walk the Labyrinth every year inside Chartres Cathedral. We are also reminded of Joshua who marched his army seven times around the city of Jericho – and on the last time its walls crumbled. To see exactly where all this data about Leviathan is really leading us, we will again consult the editors of The Necronomicon:

‘For the Orgone of Wilhelm Reich is just as much Leviathan as the Kundalini of Tantrick adepts, and the Power raised by the Witches. It has always, at least in the past two thousand years, been associated with occultism and essentially with Rites of Evil Magick, or the Forbidden Magick, of the Enemy, and of Satan . . . and the twisting, sacred Spiral formed by the Serpent of the Caduceus, and by the spinning of the galaxies, is also the same Leviathan as the Spiral of the biologists’ Code of Life: DNA’.

Kundalini no less – a phenomenon we are always being forced to consider and the very force that lies behind the human ‘enlightenment experience’ in which man’s consciousness is able to engage directly with the most powerful force in the universe – the synergetic energy of the Void and the Unconscious. With the reference given to 23.5 degrees in an illustration featuring the Leviathan Serpent associated with the powerful and awesome energy of Kundalini, are we being told - as was believed - that the release of this energy is somehow responsible for the tilt of the earth's axis? Perhaps not, but its an interesting hypothesis seeing as the Kundalini phenomenon, associated with the 'human axis' is also being implicated in these sources that feature the angles we have seen.

We will now turn our attention to other sources - some well-known - that also give reference to the angle of 23.5 degrees.

In Sumeria and Babylonia this dragon or serpent was known as Tiamat. Other names given to this creature are Behemoth, Asp and Rehab. Of late, Tiamat has been the subject of many catastrophe theories. For instance, author Zechariah Sitchin believes that Tiamat was a planet that orbited the sun where the Asteroid Belt is today and that the planet Marduk and its satellites, which Sitchin says are on a 3,600-year orbit around the sun in our solar system, collided with Tiamat breaking the planet in half, and sending both to an orbit closer to the sun where each half then became the earth and moon. As overly dramatic and unlikely as this may sound, there are many supporters of this theory. However, a moving celestial body is hardly something that one would describe as having been “roused” – “awakened” or “stirred up”.

In his book, The Day Behemoth and Leviathan Died (1999), author David Allen Deal writes that Leviathan (Tiamat) was a planetoid (he also calls Tristan) that had impacted the earth, burying itself so deep that it became the earth’s inner core and that this celestial body is also the “stone” that fell from the head of the evil serpent known as Lucifer or Satan (the planet

34. This illustration is a 17th century anthropomorphic depiction of the fearsome creature known as a Leviathan. As we can see the scepter or mace from which flames emerge in a decorative way, is angled at 23.5 degrees - the same as the earth's axis. Leviathan holds a sword in his right hand which is tilted at 27 degrees - which we have seen before
