Although these similar little details in both our accounts seemed trivial at first glance, I could see many similarities between Paul’s core-experience and my own. I then began my own analysis and research into our ‘core-experiences’ and the more important insights that followed them. I then researched through many books and magazine articles to see if anything compared. I found many similar experiences – even some that were almost identical. But what surprised and shocked me the most were the accounts of so-called “alien abduction.”
I found that most of these “abduction” experiences contained many familiar references. I could only conclude that these people’s experiences were inexplicably linked to the same energy-phenomenon that my brother and I had experienced. This was very disconcerting as Paul and I had no conscious recall of ever having come face-to-face with an “alien” – although Paul did see a UFO during his later experiences which we will go into in more detail later. My understanding now is that this ‘energy phenomenon’ we experienced is also linked to the UFO phenomenon and that it could probably offer a suitable solution to this particular enigma that has been plaguing us – not only for the last fifty years – but also for thousands of years. We could see that this ‘energy phenomenon’ was indeed related to this particular “paranormal” phenomenon . . . but it is also related to every other phenomenon, whether it is normal, paranormal or mystical.
If we remember, Paul mentions some very important things in his description of this energy-phenomenon; things that only showed their true significance much later. As you know, in my recital of Paul’s account I emphasised the following words and sentences in Italics:
“Lecture hall.”
“TV set.”
“Tripod stand.”
“In order to do this, I must cause my body to vibrate.”
“. . . like the snow effect that you get between channels.”
“Tingling.”
“It was like a “million volts” were passing through my body – but without the pain.”
“This noise is so difficult to describe, it oscillates . . . pulsates . . . it’s a totally electrical noise.”
“The two oscillations bounced through each other, and this phasing was probably produced by both energies coming together and cancelling the other out as they passed . . . a ‘phase cancellation - sound.”
“This was not a subjective experience it seemed almost mechanical in its process.”
“. . . my body had another mind that was controlling it . . .”
“. . . that there was all this “machinery” going on in ‘automatic pilot’.”
As you may have noticed, the dream that preceded my own core-experience, actually yielded images that were similar as those in Paul’s preceding dream. At first, some of these images were seen by both of us as the abstract rubbish one would find typical of a dream – like the TV screen for instance and the “spinning pipe-like tube” at the lecturer’s ankle. But as time went on we could see that, as absurd and as subtle as they were, these images were each a meaningful symbol that would later introduce us to certain insights, that when brought together constituted an intelligible ‘system of knowledge.’
I’m sure that if people were more sensitive regarding the images they see in their dreams, and took some time to reflect upon their meaning, then they would probably discover that the images in the dream were in fact ‘symbols’ that had pointed to something very important. Of course this is nothing new, as most of us know that dream imagery is full of metaphors and symbols – each of which are significant as regards the situations and events one may be currently involved in.
I would ask you to memorise the above quotations from Paul’s description because each is important – especially when we compare them with the insights that later came to Paul and I and which constitutes the intuitive knowledge that I have now gathered together in this book. Again, this knowledge came from a synthesis of insights, which were a result of these particular experiences and of course this ‘energy phenomenon.’ Anyway, let’s compare our core-experiences:
1. Both our experiences begin with a dream that seemed very real.
2. Both “dreams” are set in a lecture room or lecture complex.
3. Both “dreams” feature a TV set or TV screen.
4. Both TVs are set to the so-called “white-noise” frequency between channels.
5. Both “dreams” feature vibrations.
6. Both our accounts show the “dream” fading and our ‘conscious’ realisation that it is our bodies that are vibrating – but I would stress that our impression was and still is, that these vibrations were not happening on a physically perceptible level.
7. We both had the same experience of this vibrating energy coursing up and down our bodies – i.e., oscillating.
8. We both experienced an explosion in our heads – i.e. an intense radiation of very bright white light from a point in the centre.
Now both these experiences really did happen, and I can assure the reader that nothing has been fabricated, added, exaggerated, or left out. These experiences are still very fresh in both our minds.
In my case, I would like to make it perfectly clear, that after the so-called dream, the concluding experience of an energy oscillating through the body, was not part of the “dream,” nor was it an hallucination, it was something that was more awesomely real than anything we have known. Having closely analysed the different stages of his own core-experience, Paul also agrees with me on this.
What is this strange energy that oscillates the length of the body: culminating in a blinding white flash in the head? Surely, such an experience is not common?
Before I could give any kind of answer to what this powerful energy was, and the nature of what we had both experienced, I looked very carefully at the symbolism in these so-called dreams, which led up to this strange ‘energy experience’ and which seemed very real to both of us.
Although I didn’t know it at the time, what I was going to discover in these dreams eventually led me to the actual “mechanism” as regards consciousness and how it operates as regards one’s own creation of reality – but this is something we will look at later.
I think the reader would agree that both the dreams that led up to these experiences, are very similar in comparison – especially when one notes the same motifs in each – i.e. the lecture or conference-like room; the TV or monitor that shows the “white snow” affect between channels, etc.
Now if we look at other people’s accounts regarding this ‘energy phenomenon,’ we would be hard pressed to find all these elements together – but they all appear ‘separately’ in many accounts of paranormal and mystical experience.
The coursing of the energy up and down the body; the low and high vibrations and the explosion of very bright white light in the head would mostly be found in many accounts of brief mystical and spiritual enlightenment – especially Kundalini and some accounts of people’s “Near-Death” or “Out of Body” experiences.
Now many people who have researched into the UFO phenomenon would be of the opinion that many of our experiences are perhaps related to UFO and abduction experiences. If this is true then the so-called “abduction” experience is more bizarre than people realise.
I would admit that some of the elements of my own experience – especially the monitor or TV screen; the curved corridor, and the strange “being” sitting in front of the monitor, can even be found in many “alien abduction” accounts, as I have already mentioned. (We will look at some of these accounts later.)
Our hypothesis that this ‘energy phenomenon’ is very much connected to the UFO and all related phenomena, seems all the more likely – especially when we look at the questionnaires that UFO researchers have recently put together, and which highlight certain recurring motifs connected with the abduction experience.
The following is a rough list I have put together and is a composite of some of the questionnaires I have come across:
Have you ever . . .
1. Seen a ghost?
2. Feel as if you have left your body?
3. Seen a UFO?
4. Woken up paralysed or felt a strange presence in your house or bedroom?
5. Felt as if you were flying through the air?
6. Experienced missing time? . . Or remember being lost for a while but cannot remember anything about it?
7. Seen any unusual lights or balls of light?
8. Found any bizarre marks or scars on your body that you have no prior knowledge of?
9. Had vivid dreams about UFOs?
10. Had numerous nosebleeds for no apparent reason?
11. Suffered with sinus problems?
12. Ever seen a terrifying figure like a monster, a ghost, or a hooded figure when you were a child?
13. Had an imaginary playmate, or a playmate that no one else knew about?
14. Had a dream of eyes, such as eyes belonging to an owl, cat or deer, or have you ever had a significant dream that featured these creatures.
Let’s see now, I have had experiences relating to Nos. 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14. Paul’s experiences can be related to 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10, and 11.
Paul and I both suffer from chronic sinusitis, as does our mother, although Paul’s is much more pronounced. Now all this would point to the possibility that Paul and I are both “abductees.” This is a possibility, as we haven’t yet been hypnotised to see if there are any buried memories. Many of Paul’s experiences seem to point to some real events associated with the UFO phenomenon that may now be buried in his memory. There are also a few anomalous periods from the earlier part of my life that I have already given accounts of. But before we start drawing these kinds of conclusions, I would like to make it perfectly clear that apart from the ‘entities’ in our dreams, neither Paul, nor myself, have any conscious recollection of any kind of objective “alien” being.
Paul seems to have had some vague memories of something which people would identify with some kind of “entity” or “entities.” But this is all rather vague.
Yes I would agree that many of the more subtle elements of our accounts do correspond with noted UFO phenomena, but this just goes to show the enormous complexity of the problem – especially when this problem relates to the fact that we all interpret these things differently and all according to our particular belief system, mind-set and internal dialogue.
Apart from our obvious ‘Out of Body Experiences,’ our accounts can also be related to many other paranormal phenomena such as those uncovered in so-called ‘Near-Death Experiences’ – not to mention the references to the ‘Kundalini Awakening’ experience and its disastrous effects that seem deeply related to ‘Spontaneous Human Combustion.’
My first reaction to all this was to try and understand exactly what the paranormal is, but many have tried this and have only scratched the surface. I needed a starting point . . . and my starting point was this awesome energy that is centred on and around the human spinal column and the central nervous system.
As you can see, concerning our own experiences and the paranormal experiences of many others, the picture is very broad, but I have now come to the understanding that all these ‘compartmentalised’ paranormal and mystical experiences are really related to ‘one energy’ – it’s just that this ‘one energy’ manifests itself in many ways.
I would also say that the interpretation of this energy’s manifestation has something to do with our preconceived, concepts, desires, beliefs, and ideas.
I’m sure those readers who are familiar with the Kundalini phenomenon would say that our experiences are just another example of what is referred to in Eastern Mysticism as a brief and spontaneous ‘Kundalini Awakening.’
