These extracts are taken from Krishnamurti's own accounts that he wrote in his notebook during 1961. He writes:
'25th (June) Woke up in the middle of the night and found the body perfectly still, stretched out on it’s back, motionless; this pressure and the pain were there. The brain and the mind were intensely still. There was no division between them.
There was a strange quiet intensity, like two great dynamos working at great speed; There was a peculiar tension in which there was no strain. There was a sense of vastness about the whole thing and a power without direction and cause and so no brutality and ruthlessness. And it continued during the morning'. [1] (My Italics).
'10th (July) Little sleep but wake up to be aware that there is a great sense of driving energy which is focused in the head. The body was groaning and yet it was very still, stretched out flat and very peaceful. The room seemed to be full and it was very late and the front door of the next house was shut with a bang.
There was not an idea, not a feeling and yet the brain was alert and sensitive. The pressure and the strain were there causing pain. An odd thing about this pain is that it does not in any way exhaust the body. There seems to be so much happening within the brain but yet it is impossible to put into words what exactly is taking place. There was a sense of measureless expansion'. [2]
'11th (July) The pressure and strain have been rather heavy and there is pain. The odd part of all this is that the body in no way puts up resistance in any way. There is an unknown energy involved in all this. Too busy to write much'. [3] (My Italics.)
The above descriptions parallel those given by the late physicist David Bohm and also those given by Paul, which suggests that the physicist David Bohm - who once studied under Einstein - had also had this experience. See here:
Paul:
“All the subsequent experiences that were identical in nature to the first one were very vague. I knew that they were happening . . . I knew that they were exactly the same as the first one; maybe different variations, but all were based on the same energy.
"They would happen spontaneously. They would choose their own time to come on, and they would half awaken me. I would never know when it was going to happen. The only indication I would have that it might happen, was when I was extremely tired . . . exhausted – but pleasantly exhausted, where I could easily drift into a sleep and just float away. This exhaustion would always precede the experiences.
"Of these experiences, I must have had ten or twelve. I know when I had been having them because when I finally awoke I could feel the same sensation slowly subsiding. It was as if someone had been “zapping” me all night. And then just as I suddenly awake to all this activity, they – or whoever it was – would just as suddenly switch off the “zapping machine” and go. It really felt as if someone had ‘wheeled’ all this machinery into the bedroom and switched it on while I was sleeping. It seemed to be “zapping” me because the sensation and the noise are tremendous but then going suddenly when I begin to wake. I remember coming around and feeling the after-effects . . . a very strange feeling. The noise was very loud in my head. It was a sustained note that I imagine could probably shake a building apart.
“Now dreams always seem to coincide with this “scanning” or electrical phenomenon. It was as if I was being probed by something. Very often I knew that what I was going through was physically real and it would become incorporated into the dream – just as if for example, someone was flicking water into your face while you were asleep and you were dreaming that you are on a raft on the ocean and the water is lapping. But I knew I wasn’t dreaming about the physical part of this experience. I could physically feel it – especially when I woke up. As I said, I could still feel the after-effects. Quite a few times I caught the tail end of it . . . it leaving . . . you know the physiological effects, so I knew it was happening. But it also triggered off a number of dream scenarios that somehow represented in symbolical form, what was really happening. I now call these dreams ‘Electrical Dreams.’
I recently read a book by John Mack [Abduction] where a woman had certain dreams that she happened to call “electrical dreams.” I thought that I would use this term as well, to stop any confusion that people have with all the many different terms that are basically describing the same thing. Although this woman was equating this experience with UFOs and aliens, I felt that what she was saying was related in some way with my own experiences. I know them to be dreams that have with them the intrusion of this energy. I know this, because first of all, I had a conscious, objective, experience of this energy, and analysed what it was like. The thing is, it now happens subjectively. When it wakes me up out of my sleep, it mixes in with the dream that I happen to be having. As I learn more about this energy, I am starting to analyse these dreams for any answers I might find. I am now questioning these dreams and their content because of the “abduction” related material that I have read. For me, what really ‘hit home’ was that many of my experiences do relate to the abduction phenomena.”
Gary:
Every so often, Paul would say, “I had that ‘energy thing’ again last night.” He would then go on to describe it saying that it was a tremendous energy as if he was being plugged directly into the mains. Most times, he would look elated and full of enthusiasm to tell me about it. Other times he would look worried and would express his concern. He felt that it was somehow linked to SHC (spontaneous human combustion.) This didn’t really surprise me, having already heard his accounts about this energy, which he regarded as a potentially awesome phenomenon. He told me that this energy would always wake him at around 3.00 in the morning. (This is interesting as many experiences of paranormal phenomena are reported to take place at 3:00 a.m. – especially UFO related phenomena.)
One night Paul observed a strange blue spark above his feet while going through what he calls this “zapping” experience. He also observed a strange mist or a wispy-smoky type substance rising above his body. This of course relates to many people’s accounts of out of body experiences. The blue spark disturbed him. He thought that sometimes this energy could be very close to destroying him. We both wanted to know what this energy was. We later came to the same conclusion that this energy was Pure Consciousness: an extra supply of pure energy/information that the body was trying to accommodate properly. This would explain Paul’s discomfort when it manifested; and would also explain his elation afterwards. It also corresponds with the nature of the so-called “Kundalini experience,” which some people believe could physically injure, mentally destroy or even kill a person whose mind and body was not prepared for it.
Regarding the UFO link, and all the popular theories that are going around concerning this phenomenon I would like to stress that my brother and I now feel that each of these theories when taken on their own is false, and that a synthesis of all these theories, would be somewhere nearer the truth. We each have a deep understanding about where this is all leading and on this I am also still open-minded. I would note though that Jenny Randles, a renowned UFO researcher, believes there could be a link between the UFO phenomenon and Spontaneous Human Combustion. As I have said, my brother and I have reason to believe that there is a definite link between Kundalini and SHC. So, if we use the deduction of logic here, this also means that there is also a link between Kundalini and the UFO phenomenon – and this goes very well with what I have been saying all along: that this ‘energy phenomenon’ seems to be ‘behind,’ ‘in-between,’ and at the ‘centre’ of every paranormal and mystical experience – the evidence of which I will give later. We now feel that this ‘energy’ – that gives rise to our own experiences and those of other people – is either far too complex for any of the theories that we have read about, or it is so simple or subtle, that in our wild assumptions we have overlooked something about our own consciousness. I must stress again that to understand all this in a balanced way, there needs to be a ‘synthesis’ of all the knowledge we have – not only on the paranormal, but also from all areas of human experience. Here’s the account Paul was talking about as regards “electric dreams.” It involves the story of a woman called Sheila N, taken from John Mack’s book Abduction:
“She also began to have recurring dreams in which she would experience terror, be unable to move, and her body would feel as if it were vibrating or “full of electricity.” At first she called these “spiritual dreams,” and they made her feel like someone or something else were controlling her body, as if she were “possessed” by demons. Later she thought of the dreams as seizures. “At this time (just before we met) I describe them as if electricity is travelling throughout my whole body.”

We will now look at Paul's experiences which he called 'Electric Dreams'.
